Since arriving at the University of Liverpool in 2005 Chris has volunteered hundreds of hours of his spare time to ensure that students have an opportunity to play sport whatever their ability. He has been a member of the Athletic Union executive committee for three years and has helped transform the campus sport programme from 500 to over 1000 students playing competitive sport every week. His passion for Rugby has seen him take a lead role in developing the university rugby competition engaging with over 130 students as well as coaching the women's rugby club. He has worked closely with the RFU coaching and refereeing in the Liverpool community. He is renowned for encouraging and organising other students to become qualified referees and coaches in order to give something back to University sport. He was awarded the National Student Rugby Volunteer of the year award in 2010.
