Chris Pinnell

My role in my community is as a Scout Leader in Westhill, and an Assistant Commissioner responsible for young leader training in Aberdeenshire.

These roles directly involve me in inspiring and developing the youth of the community who have joined the worldwide Scouting movement, having worked with 30 youngsters each year. Also by taking in new adults, offering them the wider opportunity to be volunteers, and to feel supported as they receive training, they will develop approx 700 youngsters.

The links between Scouting and Olympics are clear, with hard work to "do your best", to be involved in international meetings, and to aspire to achieve a goal. Carrying the flame as a Leader would add to the inspiration, as we spread the word of the opportunities we offer in Scouting and in the Olympics. I have led international experiences for youngsters, and have a huge potential to inspire others by publicising opportunities. CR
