Chris's nomination story

I think my dad is a local hero. As im sure most people would say this but my dad really is the best dad in the world. He NEVER puts himself first, and he has been the glue to hold my family together when things got tough. Along with being the best dad ever, he has also done alot for our County.

It started when he was a young lad, he was the area cross country champion and he ran for the county in the N.A.B.C.

He boxed from the age of 17,He was the south west of England feather weight champion and won bouts in overseas fights. He boxed for the county and has just recently become a full England coach. He has set up his own boxing club and is working with the police to get youths off the streets.

When he retired from boxing, he took running back up and as with his boxing he excelled. He went on to run for the country in many cross country races and also a few marathons! He ran the London marathon and was only a couple mintues short of quailfying for the England team!

He has been running for the same club all his Life the Mile High Club.My dad and his club mates have done LOADS of charity races rasing over £5000 for cancer research, which means alot to my family. He has cycled from John-o-groats to landsend in 9 days, They have been the first team ever to run the cornish coasts which took 3 days, They also did a 24hour nonstop relay run.My dad has done so much for other people i want someone to do something for him now.I know carrying the torch would make him so happy.Thank you.
