Chris's nomination story

Chris has been volunteer Water Polo coach at Croydon Amphibians Swimming Club for 12 years. He has been Water Polo Secretary for the last 15 years. Chris, now 54, has been playing water polo since he was 12, and he still plays in the over 40 veterans' team. He was a competitive swimmer winning National Age group medals in the early 1970s and represented English Universities at both swimming and water polo. He coaches the club from beginners to the top level of the club's senior British League team. His successes range from encouraging young players to start playing the game to producing many members of the England Talent Development squads. He is in his 2nd term as President of the London Water Polo League. Chris's contribution to the sport of water polo in London and Croydon has been substantial. In 2010 he received the Water Polo Coach of Year award from ASA London Swimming.
