Christopher's nomination story

Christopher was bown 12 weeks premature abnd has undergone a series of oerpations for a number of serious medical conditions. Druing one of hiw oepratiobns there were serious medical complications and he remained in hospital for a couple of months, during which time he was incredibly poorly and missed a great deal of school. Even with all the problems he has faced, he has always remained positive and cheerful throughout. Chris also has learning difficulties, partocularly with reading, writing and arithmetic. As a way of contributing to the school community Chris is a member of the the Liverpool Schools Parliament and put himself forward for Young Lord Mayor. Chris also worked as a volunteer for V involved on environmental projects, and did really well last year by completing an introduction to car mechanics which involed taking steps towards independence by attending a local mechanics training academy. Chris is an enthusiastic and committed sports player who represents the school in football and cricket teams. Chris has also represented Liverpool ion North West Athletic Trials. Chris recently followed a course in Sports Leadership; the main emphasis of this course in on leadershup qualities and being a good role model to younger pupils. Chris acted as a sport's leader, coach and motivator at Merseyside Schools Athletics Competition, and many staff and pupils commented positively and favourable on Chris's committment and manner on the day. Chris is also expetionally patient and caring of other youngsters, particularly those with disabilities.
