Chris tested motorcycles for Motorcycle News (where he still works), and raced them too, until he broke his back and ended up in a wheelchair in 1993. Since then, he has played and coached wheelchair basketball and has been chairman of Northamptonshire Phoenix Wheelchair Basketball Club for 8 years. He also sails with Northampton Sailability, scuba dives, flies microlights and races karts.
His latest project has seen him get back into the saddle of a sports motorcycle and hurtle around Britain's racetracks with The Bike Experience, a new national charity that he wants to help become international. '?I thought riding a bike effectively was impossible, but The Bike Experience has showed me and other riders who have been paralysed, or have lower limb amputation that they can ride again. We've overcome the impossible and therefore other challenges in our lives are within our reach, should we decide to go for it. It's top fun too!!'
