Chris Wilkins

Chris (known as Woody) has run the 4th Whitstable Guide unit for over 20 years. This means that she given up her own time every week to organise activities for this guide unit, planned yearly camps and given up weekends to attend various events with the girls. Also taking a week of her own holiday to run a camp for the unit. There is much more to it than just turning up each week, as you know leaders of such groups have to be fully qualified and must attend courses to keep these up to date, again giving up her own time. In the meantime she has worked and brought up a family. Over the last 3years she has also run two London Marathons for charity. Volunteering and running such a group is a commitment, and not always an easy task, especially when dealing with teenage girls. But she has accomplished this over the years and built up a very popular Guide Unit.
