Christine is a shining example of how an ordinary person can make a difference to the lives of people she encounters. Starting as a mother to 4 sons, giving them a foundation of stability, and setting by example, a sense of consideration for others, They in turn have chosen to run marathons to support charities. The following events taken from Christine's life to date, demonstrates how her humanity has helped make life easier or happier for the so many people her compassion has touched. From befriending older people while working at a local Nursing Home, making regular social visits and the occasional shopping for them, and even tending the grave of one departed friend whose son lives too far to visit. Walking the Great Wall of China for two weeks, to raise funds for the local branch of Age Concern. and running the Race for Life on a number of occasions in aid of Cancer Charities. Working and living for a month in an orphanage in Goa to help the El Shaddai Charity, and also sponsoring individual orphans with monthly donations. Working unpaid, as a home visitor for the Home Start Charity in the Wokingham area, to help and mentor single mothers with children under 5, who have experienced difficulties in coping. Serving on the local NSPCC committee, and organising and working at fundraising events. Working in the WRVS shop in Wokingham Hospital. Now at 62 Christine shows no signs of slowing, caring for our grandson for 2 days a week. And I love her to bits !Starting as a mother to 1 daughter ( who tragically died aged 4 years from leukaemia) and 4 sons, giving.........
