Chris is a young man I first met when I visited Alder Hey's Children's hospital in Liverpool in 2009 to have a look at their physiotherapy facilities and how my foundation might be able to help improve the service. Chris was 16 at the time, and full of character and enthusiasm. He has spent most of his life in and out of Alder Hey since the age of three, being treated for a number of different conditions including Down's Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Osteoporosis. Sleep Apnoea... the list goes on. But despite his many challenges, I know from my own experience, and from the team at Alder Hey, that he is always positive and full of determination. He is a real inspiration to those who care for him, and has made a big impact on me!
