Chloe's nomination story

Chloe is 17 years old and was diagonised with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of nine. Chloe has used this to her advantage by raising awareness and fundraising for JDRF which is Juvenille Research Foundation. Chloe won the Welsh Young Volunteer of the Year in 2010 which praised her dedication in trying to educate people re her condition, she has given talks at events as well as mentoring other young people with Type 1 Diabetes who are having difficult times. Chloe has always volunteered in the community with a small local charity Presteigne & Norton Community Support where she has helped out with administrative tasks, AGM and coffee mornings. She is currently a sixth form student at John Beddoes School and is involved with many things at the school such as apause and Beddoes Buddies,help younger students to fit into the school. Chloe has been accepted by the University of Bristol to become a Children's nurse the course starts in September 2011 after she has completed her A Levels her desire is great to help other children especially in the field of Type 1 Diabetes to which she hopes to specialise. Chloe has had many barriers and struggles and has overcome her life changing condition and worked this to her advantage, she is a keen Young leader at Rainbows a group of the Girl Guides which she attends weekly and this August she has been selected to represent Wales on an international trip to Malta. I would like you to consider Chloe as she always puts others before herself.
