Charlotte's nomination story

Charlotte was diagnosed with a serious malignant cancer at just 12 weeks old. This damaged her spinal column causing Paraplegic disability. Newlife Foundation for Disabled Children has supplied Charlotte by granting her two wheelchairs, which she has needed as she has grown. Charlotte has shown determination and plays wheelchair tennis, basketball and races to a very high standard. She is now the No 1. girl, under 15 wheelchair racer in the UK and No 8 in the under 18 tennis players in the world. She plays wheelchair basketball for Coventry Crusaders and has raced in the London Wheelchair mini marathon for the last 3 years, winning the under 14 girls category for the last 2 years. Charlotte has not just accepted the support Newlife has given her but has committed to fundraising and as so far fundraised over £1300, helping Newlife to help more children get the equipment they need.
