Charis Smith is a hard-working and consequently high achieving student, who epitomises the three Olympic Values. She understands that `being amazing at something, or being smart is not what would win me this position but instead showing that she has the Values` (quoted from her written application in school for the position). Charis demonstrates on a daily basis that she believes in practice and dedication as a means of achieving excellence. This is apparent in the way that she conducts herself around the school, consistently focussed in lessons and always putting 100% into her classwork and homework. Charis always shows a great deal of respect towards students and adults alike and as a result is very popular amongst her peers. When questioned about what this opportunity would mean to her, Charis declared that `it would be the satisfaction of knowing that she symbolises the Olympic Values, which she knows are innate in her, but would be happy if other people recognised this`.
