Ceinwen Giles

Ceinwen is a truly inspirational person. Diagnosed with Stage 4B Non-Hodgkins in Lymphoma, a highly aggressive cancer, in early 2010, just four weeks after giving birth to her daughter, she battled through months of harsh chemotherapy while a hospital in-patient. She did this with resilience and cheerfulness, and a desire to be the best mother she can be in difficult circumstances. Prior to becoming ill she was a keen cross-country runner, and throughout her treatment has dreamt of getting back to her running best. Now in remission, she is slowly rebuilding her fitness after treatment confined her to bed for many months. Two years is a key milestone for the success of her treatment - just in time for London 2012! Being a torchbearer would be a fitting way to celebrate beating her illness, and to begin to plan for the future with her family. I can't think of a more deserving person.
