Carolyn's nomination story

Carolyn runs a Girl Guiding group and has done so for the past 26 years. Carolyn also runs a Ranger unit and previous Girl Guides have gone onto run their own groups. Carolyn gives up her spare time to prepare meetings and run the meetings during the week. This also involves time given at weekends when camping activities are undertaken.

The biggest impact is for Carolyn to influence young people to take part in worthwhile activities which develop them in both literal skills, but the relationship building & working together with other people. Carolyn develops the confidence within the Guides & to make them proud of their achievements & to go out to achieve other areas that they may not have considered.

Carolyn has been a Bank Manager for several years, and her commitment to her job and to the Guide movement is a credit to her dedication and commitment both roles. Carolyn gets a massive sense of achievement helping young people to fulfil their potential, and giving them an alternative outlook on the activities they can pursue in their life. Carolyn is an inspiration in that she balances the demands of work and social life, to give her experience and skills back to the community.

Good luck Carolyn you deserve every recognition.
