I am a former student of Caroline`s and throughout the 5 years that she taught me,she was not only a fantastic teacher but an incredible leader and motivator. Her will to enhance the lives of all children at our school and in our area through the means of sport is incredible.I watched her inspire children with any level of ability and lead them to a more equal and fair chance of getting involved with sporting activity.I am in awe of her work and her mentality that all children have the right to shine and it`s been through her hard work and dedication that has seen children with mental, social and physical difficulties as well as those with none, thrive upon the opportunities she has created. Caroline has set up numerous events, activities and clubs designed to do just that. In the years I was privileged to work with and learn from her, her heart and commitment to her beliefs has been a tremendous inspiration to me. Caroline received the P.E Teacher of the year award which she throughly deserved, however I feel still hasn`t received the recognition she`s earned for transforming the lives of so many young people, many of whom had never been given a chance to participate in physical activity until she intervened. The countless anecdotes I have of the way she`s touched people`s lives are remarkable, I just hope that this incredible woman I have the pleasure of calling a hero and a friend, can be recognised through carrying the Olympic torch; an honour I feel she was born to experience.
