Dolly has worked with children in her professional and voluntary capacity since leaving school in the late 1970's. Initially working in pre-schools, she then went on to run a pre-school in Salisbury. About 15 years ago, Dolly started out offering respite care to a physically and mentally handicapped 3 year old child, Rachel and she has been with her ever since being brought up alongside Dolly's 2 children. During this period it was identified that there was no youth club or facilities in the vicinity of her home. Dolly therefore led on identifying and setting up a club. This has grown from very humble and simple beginnings to a brand new purpose built facility which was opened a year ago. The club now services a considerable number of youngsters 2-3 evenings a week and has recently introduced the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme for disabled youngsters which is very much a first for this region. Dolly also works for the local youth service assisting youngsters who have significant learning issues.
