Carol has been a member of Perth Gymnastics club since 1993. She was part of the Perth and Kinross squad where she won numerous medals and trophies. Carol was also a member of the Perth Gymnastics Club Display team and took part in displays all over Britain. She retired from gymnastics after a final display - the Festival Del Sol - in Italy. Not only was Carol a participating gymnast but she went on to gain her gymnastics coaching qualifications and coached local children in Perth for many years - As part of Perth Gymnastics Club and Perth and Kinross Council Motiv8 programme. Carol is now a fully qualified Primary Teacher (still teaching in Perth) and continues to use her gymnastics skills to set up, plan and coach free afterschool clubs for the children at her school.
After attending a clay pigeon shoot with her dad, Carol's love of shooting grew. This became her main sport and Carol has qualified for the Scottish Ladies DTL shooting team for the past 7 consecutive years. Not only has she represented Scotland at home internationals between England, Ireland and Wales but she has also been part of the Scottish Ladies Team shooting at European and World championships. Carol has won a number of shooting titles. She was Scottish Ladies High Gun Champion in 2007, Scottish Ladies International High Gun Champion in 2006, Runner up Ladies Team at the European championships in 2007 and Single Barrel Ladies Champion in 2010, 2009, 2007 and 2006.
Unfortunately Carol's shooting discipline is not part of the Olympic programme however she would love the honour of competing in the Olympics and is considering changing shooting disciplines in order to achieve this. Having the opportunity to carry the Olympic Torch would really mean the world to Carol and she would take great pride in carrying out this responsibility.
