Elaine's nomination story

Elaine breathes inspiration into to all who know her. As a 66 year old grandmother, retiring isn`t in her vocabulary, even though she has suffered cancer for more than ten years. Training at LABAN in the 60`s she has motivated countless numbers of generations. Running affordable Midlands recreational gymnastics clubs for young people for thirty years, she inspires local organisations, teachers, parents and children with her compassion, enthusiasm and energy. She organises Walsall Dance Festival with very limited funding, as dance is her passion. She has been involved with projects for young people to raise their self esteem through dance and gymnastics. She instills confidence in all ages and abilities, nurturing and encouraging them to achieve their maximum potential. Elaine helps organise local community Health Walks and is heavily involved in local events and projects. She has an assistant of 87, a former circus acrobat, promoting daily that gymnastics is something EVERYONE can benefit from. She sets the highest example as a person and as a selfless, giving, enigmatic member of the community. Elaine has never received accolades, trophies or monetary rewards she gives because she loves to see people smile and take enjoyment from what she can give so naturally, her time, energy and talent. Her family, friends and community believes she should have a little time to shine herself. 150 words aren`t enough for this life-force!
