Carol's nomination story

I never really participated or enjoyed sport until I met Carol, my P.E teacher. She's the kind of person who encourages everyone to get involved in sport and do the best they can, even those who don't believe it (like me). I wasn't confident during P.E lesson and playing sport, but she inspired me to get involved and give it a try, and I'm now a member of several school teams. I'm not the first person she has inspired and I know I won't be the last. Over a year ago, we found out that Carol was diagnosed with cancer. This came as a shock to everyone, but she kept smiling and laughing, and we kept thinking of her. She came back to school after her chemotherapy and was happy to answer any questions we had. She is a strong, popular figure within the school community, and deserves to take part in this fantastic and unique experience because she is fantastic and unique. She is an inspirational person who I am proud to call my teacher. I want London 2012 to know how remarkable Carol is.
