Carol Bowery

Carol has continuously supported young mothers in the most amazing way. With Carol at the head of a great team she has ensured many young mothers have gone on to lead successful lives. But also and in some ways most importantly she has cared and ensured that young mothers have the confidence and believe in themselves to function within society. Society stereotypes teenage mothers and stigmatizes them, and this is difficult to live with. Carol is constantly fighting against these stigmas, whilst ensuring young mothers have the opportunity to access high levels of education. I had my son at 15 and was lost! Carol inspired, guided and and supported me for many years. Including when I had left the school and even now I know if I went back she would still welcome me in for a chat. I am now a teacher leading a happy and content life. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Carol.
