Carian Scudamore

Carian has been involved in sport from a very young age being a member of every team possible throughout her school years as well as competing as an individual. After several years she finally settled on Show Jumping.

In the last 9 years she has dedicated every spare minute to working with her horses and competing up through the ranks from the ponies representing Wales through to her dream of European Championships and Youth Olympic Games where at both events she won Gold Medals.

Carian has spent a lot of time giving other children a glimps into her experiences and giving other young people the idea that maybe they can also achieve their dreams if they work hard and set their goals.

She has been back to her school in Newcastle Emlyn several times to share her experiences and show the pupils her medals.

Having completed her school years at Ysgol Gyfun Emlyn to finish her GCSE's Carian has always given 100% to everything, and with the fantastic support of the school gained 7 GCSE's as well as her European Championship Gold medal in 2009.

Whenever possible she will speak to others at workshops and acadamies to encourage them to follow their dreams, set their goals and never give up.

At 19 years old in 2012 Carian will be too young to be considered for the British Team, however she is desperate to beocme involved in some way with London 2012 which is why I feel giving Carian the opportunity to be one of the torch bearers would be absolutely fantastic and a memory she will treasure.
