Camilla's nomination story

Camilla is an excellent ambassador and role model for young people, a genuine leader within the rowing world as well as her local community. Having taken up rowing as a result of Project Oarsome, she has gone on to represent her country and achieve a Gold medal at the 2010 World Rowing Junior Championships. She is the first winner at this level in her club, making her coaches proud. Even with a much higher national ranking Camilla has continued to train alongside her many friends and race with them at all levels. Whilst studying and training twice per day, Camilla has always made the time to help support the local schools indoor rowing programme aimed at introducing eleven years old to healthy activity. Determined to get people onto the water, she also helps the younger participants at the Learn to Row courses provided at her home club.
