Calum began his fencing age 3, and has just been selected to fence in the Scottish UK School Games Squad 2011. He is part of the Great Britain under 17 squad and is a past age group Master at Arms, member, and team captain of the winning Scottish School Foil Team. Calum approaches all things with gusto, everything he sets his mind to he completes, not just well but to the best of his ability. He stepped onto the first rung of his chosen career by winning a place at the Scottish Space School in Strathclyde University, became Dux of his School, and took his first solo flight in the last six months. Calum has given back so much to his sport and his school. He volunteers to teach the Primary school class twice a week, bringing his individual style of leadership to the fore. He is unassuming and modest about his skills, but everything he does, he researches well until he is more than competent. Being given the chance to be a torchbearer would give him the opportunity to show you can achieve evrything you put your mind to. In his spare time he love to play electric guitar, bagpipes - he plays at the Burns Supper for the local Church Guild, and astronomy. His goal is not only to reach the stars, but to go beyond them!!
