Bruce's nomination story

Bruce Scott is an inspiration to many local athletes being a former top Athlete himself who achieved success at local level right up to international level. He now passes on his years of learning to the younger generation at Tweed Leader Jed Track running club in the Scottish Borders. This club was recently started up in 2009 with the aim to improve athletics locally. Bruce has managed to successfully achieve this with very impressive results from our local athletes at Borders competitions to International Schools Competitions. Into his fifties Bruce regularly runs, reaching finals and winning, showing that athletics is not just a sport for the young. Every week, he takes time out of his very busy schedule to provide at least four high quality training sessions for the club all voluntarily. Bruce's friendly character and dedication earns him very high respect from club members and athletes alike. I and many others do believe strongly that Bruce undoubtedly deserves to have the honour in being part of the Olympic Relay!
