Bronte Bowen

Bronte is a valued pupil in our community of Cardinal Newman School - she is held in high regard by both staff and pupils. Her fundraising passion is for Dementia Awareness, and her cake sales are legendary. She is continualy organising events not only just to raise funds but to draw our attention to this illness. Because of her enthusiasm other staff in the school have joined her in her fundraising efforts. In August 2011 Bronte will be joining youth from all over the world for the World Youth Day in Madrid -2,000,000 young people from all over the world are expected to attend. She is helping to organise in school pupils to go to London to take part in the Cymfed Flame Congress. This again is a gathering of young people that will take place in Wembly Arena in March 2012. Bronte has also suggested that she would like to organsie pupils in our Consortia of schools to take part for the Olympic volunteering when people arrive in Cardiff and she will make a excellent ambassador for Wales. I thoroughly recommend Bronte as a torchbearer of the Olympic Torch as she represtents all that is good about what this event stands for, and all that is good about young people. Bronte elevates the people that she meets; she stands up for the Olympic value of peace by being a person of forgiveness and reconciliation and opportunity irrespective of creed or culture. Bronte emulates these values in her life and I hope this nomination is successful. Thank you, diolch and good luck!
