Brian's nomination story

(Xerox) Brian works for Xerox in the UK, outside his busy working life, he has volunteered for the junior chamber of commerce (JCI) for 18 years. He has served his local and national chambers in a range of roles. More recently Brian has volunteered to become a Panel Member for Children's Hearings, where he makes decisions about children at risk or in trouble. Scotland's Children's hearings put children first, as a panel member he has to deal with cases that are often complex, difficult and emotionally challenging. In 2011 he has been through over 45 hours of extensive training to undertake this voluntary role. Brian exemplifies the spirit of someone who is making a difference to his community and therefore would be a worthwhile Torchbearer.
