Brian was homeless and had serious alcohol problems. Out of the blue he decided he wanted to educate himself. While still struggling with alcohol addiction he worked his way towards gaining a masters degree in classical studies. (Nice Olympic connection there- and he`s always up for doing a Homer!). He is a well known character in the local area and hosts his own arts show on the local community radio station as a volunteer. He also volunteers with various other local groups and is currently writing his second book on the arts. If chosen, we at the GalGael Trust would be happy to consider rowing Brian- with the torch - up the River Clyde on our 32ft Hebridean Galley ship.
