As CEO of Dungannon Enterprise Centre for the past 17 years, Brian MacAuley has spearheaded the local economic drive with a steely determination. His work has seen an erstwhile unemployment 'black spot' flourish today with record numbers of start-ups thanks to his dedication. He has brought much needed work and social empowerment to all communities without flinch and continues to buck the recessionary downturn trend by exuding confidence, matched with job creation for many people. He has not confined his wealth of management skills to the business sector. His training and mentoring programmes have supported numerous community groups and charities in the area including Cancer Choices, Age Concern and St. Vincent De Paul. Brian's passion is the promotion of self-employment as a career option to young people in schools. Over the last year he has guided and supported over 500 young people in secondary schools to explore their own entrepreneurial skills instilling confidence and belief. Brian MacAuley singlehandedly epitomises the PM's 'Big Society' dream by leading from the front and nurturing others to follow him and realise their dreams.
