Benjamin Nicolson

Ben arrived in Stronsay, having been seriously bullied in his previous school. Despite difficult home circumstances he settled well here and proceeded to inspire us all with his positive and cheerful outlook. As a role model it would be difficult to find a better one! We are constantly impressed with Ben's exemplary attitude to others and his learning. He is unfailingly courteous, reliable and respectful, showing a level of empathy with other people unusual in one so young. He takes time to listen to others, mediates as required, is supportive, caring and well liked by all. He is fully committed to everything he does on and off the sports field, inspiring and nurturing others. He is outstanding in that he does all this in a quiet and unassuming manner. Importantly Ben regards this opportunity as a real honour. He embodies all the Olympic values he is our unanimous choice.
