Ben's nomination story

Ben is currently only 13 yrs of age and has been helping others since the age of approximately 11. He started off by supporting young disabled children at a disabled childrens sports camp during the summer holidays. Ben is an avid wrestler and has been wreslting since 8 and helped through this sport. he has since completed the Manchester Blackpool bike ride to raise money for Wigan and Leigh Hospice and arranged to participate in another one from Manchester to Chester for Mediquip for kids but had to drop out due to a broken leg caused during training. He always gives 110% in his chosen sport of wrestling and helps the younger wrestlers when they start the sport. Ben also supported the club at our major competition last year by ensuring that any jobs needing completing to support all the other teams including providing bout sheets etc were available and needed no pushing to do this. I feel he would be a great ambassador for a young sportsperson and child who wants to help others and so would really support the ethos you are looking for. He would also feel that this would be a great honour for all the hard work over the years he has put into his wrestling career. At the time the application was submitted I was 13 and I have now turned 14 on 21/7/11. I have this year also completed the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride for click sergeant.
