Buxton Park Bowling Club would like to nominate Ben, in recognition of his fund-raising effort for our Bowling club, and other Charities. He cycled 150 miles across England in 2009, raising £1,500. This included monies raised at a Family Fun Day, which was Ben`s idea, to support the work of two local neonatal Intensive care Units and a neonatal transport team who were involved with the life-saving care of his three year old sister, when she was born three months premature. In 2010 he cycled 250 miles across Scotland, raising £350 towards the refurbishment of our Bowling Club. This year, he and two of his friends, have cycled across England, again, raising £1,000 for Help For Heroes. He enters competitive mountain bike events, taking part in the Dark and White Peak Challenge, with his dad. Recently, they completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, under the Target time of 12 hours. He plays Rugby for school and has entered his 1st Triathlon, in Buxton, in September. Ben plans to join the local Mountain Rescue Team when he`s seventeen. Ben is a delightful community- spirited young man, and most deserving of our nomination.
