Ben's nomination story

Ben has been a prominent hockey player for both England and Great Britain since his first international appearance in 2002. He has competed in the last two Olympic Games and had the honour of captaining the British Hockey Team during the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Ben is a highly skilled player with a wealth of experience playing at the highest level. He is a role model and an inspiration not just because of his playing abilities, as Ben has to balance his hockey commitments around his career in marketing which shows the dedication required to succeed. Ben was honoured to be voted on to the BOA Athletes' Commission by his fellow athletes and brings a team sport perspective to the group. He is passionate about providing athletes with the best preparation for London 2012.
