Ben Carr

Ben Carr has become an expert at overcoming challenges! Ben himself has learning difficulties yet as a Young Carer he cares not only for his Mother who has Physical and Mental Health problems but also for his twin brother who has severe learning difficulties. When I first met Ben eight years ago he was a very shy nervous boy with low self-esteem and a victim of severe bullying. Today he is an outgoing, confident young man who utilizes his own life experiences and compassion for others. Ben volunteers for Eden Carers, Eden Community Outdoors as a mentor providing support and befriender for Young People with learning difficulties in addition to studying Childcare at college fulltime. Ben is deserving of this opportunity for his recognition as he is inspirational to others.
