Barry Light

Barry will be 60 on 22nd December 2011, and plans to run 60 marathons in 60 weeks to raise £60k for charity.This includes 5 world marathons, 15 european and 40 UK based; an Olympic event in itself! At any age the demand on your body to succeed in such an incredible challenge is immense so to do this at 60 to help benefit 5 charities is incredible and admirable. The commitment form Barry and his family to achieve this feat highlights their extremely generous nature. Alongside ourselves, The Wessex Autistic Society, Dorset Somerset and Air Ambulance, Mosaic, Team PB and WaterAid will all benefit from Barry's amazing dedication. The money being raised will benefit thousands of people both in the UK and worldwide. Barry is a true Olympic Hero and would love to add an extra mile of running with a torch in between his 60 marathons! We cannot thank him enough.
