Barbara Horne

Barbara has been a local Cub Leader for almost 40 years, providing a service, adventure and activities to local children aged 8 - 11. Over the years she has also acted as District Cub Leader in Rossendale, assisting the Assistant District Commissioner for Cubs in supporting other Cub Leaders and the work of Scouting in Rossendale. She has received the Award for Merit for outstanding services to Scouting. Barbara has been an unpaid Carer for her learning disabled sister since 1994 and continues to look after her. She is actively involved in a number of other local charitable groups, including Rossendale Mencap and Gateway Club, for whom she acts as Treasurer. In the past she was an active member of a local fundraising group for Rossendale Hospice. Barbara makes a huge difference to the many groups within our community.
