Ashley's nomination story

Ashley turns 18 in July 2012. Guildford born and told she would never be able to walk, she is an inspiration to everyone that meets her having overcome her mild cerebral palsy ,SLD , ASD and ADHD through sport. In 2003 she was presented with a special achievement award by Duncan Goodhew because she had finally learned how to jump after many months of physiotherapy . In 2008 Ashley won the sports personality of the year award at her residential school because of her determination to try anything sports related with gusto. She has completed the Race for Life three times and raised hundreds of pounds for charity. She even gets up at 7.00am everyday and completes a sports workout at school to keep fit. Ashley is a happy person who loves running, having fun and meeting people. She lights up the lives of everyone she meets and the perfect example of how to overcome adversity through sport. I feel this is her moment to show the world how sport can inspire people to do remarkable things .
