Ashley Dickson

Ashley is an outstanding young man and exemplifies the qualities we would like to see in all our young people, but not demonstrated by many. He is a keen sportsman and plays basketball for Worcester Wolves and Coventry Trojan's Colts team. He also played for the West Midlands Development Basketball Squad. Ashley's mother, our Reservations Manager Angela, is a long standing member of staff and Ashley has worked for us part-time during his formative years - continuing to do so whilst studying for an extended BTEC Diploma in Sport, Fitness & Coaching at Henley in Arden College, which is acknowledged to be a centre of excellence for sporting careers. His goal is to become a sports coach and he has spent his summer holidays coaching youngsters in sporting activities in conjunction with our local Onside sports scheme. He partakes in other voluntary activities, all in the sports field, such as Sport for All, which is council funded and provides young people with sporting experiences. The opportunity to run in the torch relay would be an experience that would last a life time and that he could take with him to further his career in sport. Ashley is truly deserving of such an opportunity and would be an excellent ambassador for Intercontinental Hotels in general and Holiday Inn Leamington Spa - Warwick in particular. CR
