Ashley's nomination story

"Diversity exploded onto the UK stage in May 2009 when they won Britain's Got Talent, watched by 20 million viewers.  Since then Ashley Banjo, choreographer and leader, and the rest of the dynamic street dance group have starred in a blockbuster movie and been part of four sell out nationwide tours selling over a quarter of a million tickets. Ashley Banjo and the group have recently signed two year exclusive deals with Sky 1 where Ashley is a judge on the hit show Got To Dance and hosts his own show, Ashley Banjo Secret Street Crew, where his focus is turning ordinary people from different walks of life into street dance stars with the help of the rest of Diversity. Their name Diversity was chosen, not only to describe their unique style, but is a perfect description of their visual appearance of age, ethnicity and what each member brings to the performance.  Ashley has managed to capture the true essence.  The Dance troupe consists of eight members from East London and Essex which includes two sets of brothers complemented by four of their best friends. They have performed all over the world, in front of the likes of The Queen, The Prime Minister and Michael Jackson's family at the Michael Jackson Tribute Concert. They are fantastic role models and will always work hard to create and reinvent memorable unforgettable performances.  Their motto is carried through in everything they do 'dreamed, believe, achieve' and being approached to be torchbearers for London 2012 is a huge honour and part of their dream.  "
