Arran's nomination story

AT only 28 years of age, England Women's Cricket ace Arran Brindle has over 60 international caps under her belt already. In 2005 Arran was part of the England team that won the Ashes Series achieving a 100 run average. After a break from the game, Arran, who lives in Louth, Lincolnshire, made a return to the full England side following a spell in the England Academy. Arran has worked hard in her local community to encourage more people to take up cricket, with a particular focus on developing young female cricketers and introducing them to the game. Arran devotes an enormous amount of her spare time to Louth Cricket Club, which she captains. In May, 2011, for Louth Arran became the first women in the world to score a 100 in the highest level of club cricket . As well as playing cricket internationally, Arran also teaches at a local school and runs after school clubs for the students to learn cricket. It's a true inspiration for the students to be taught by one of the best players in the world. Arran truly deserves to carry the Torch. Arran has devoted an enormous amount of spare time to Louth Cricket Club, where she captained the first X1 until making a return to the England team.This was the first time a female had captained a mens team at this level. level of mens club cricket
