Tony's nomination story

My husband, Tony, has done the most amazing thing and deserves to carry the Olympic torch. In May 2007, when I was expecting our absolutely longed for miracle son, I was diagnosed with kidney failure, totally out of the blue. After Dylan was born, weighing just over 2lbs, Tony asked to be tested to donate his kidney to me. Unbelieveably, we were a match & I received his transplanted kidney in March 2008. How can you ever thank anyone for that? Particularly your husband! Life has carried on, we have ups & downs, we argue!! (& make up!), but we carry on as a normal happy family because of Tony's unbelievable gift. Now that he has only one kidney, he's taken up running to keep fit, and I think carrying the torch will give him recognition for being so amazing, and will show the world how much we love and appreciate him. Kathryn and Dylan xx
