Tony Smith

I am nominating Tony Smith for his commitment to the work of Caravan, the charity for the grocery industry. Tony has been working hard for the charity for well over a decade ; he was a member of our fundraising committee before taking over as Fundraising President, Tony has also been a trustee for several years and currently hold the position as Chair of trustees. In 2007 Tony instigated the Caravan London to Paris cycle challenge which is now an annual event in our fundraising calendar. This event has raised a significant amount (£200k) for the charity to date. Tony is a very well known figure in our industry and this, plus the honour of carrying the Olympic torch will demonstrate that good things happens to people who do good things.
