Annette's nomination story

Four years ago Annette's partner of 17 years and father of her two children was diagnosed with Huntington's disease. This is a hereditary neurological disorder of which there is no cure. There is also a 50% chance that either of their children too could inherit this. Her partner is now no longer able to care for himself. Despite this, she works full time as a shared FC, looks after her husband and two very active young children. On top of this she volunteers teaching children's synchronised swimming, and leads the hotel charity drive for both Whizz kids and Naomi house raising nearly £9k. Now 50 she is running the great south run in aid of Huntington disease to raise funds. She always remains happy and supportive to all despite all of this. CR
