In 2008, Annelies Willerton was very committed to coaching at her club and to supporting her fellow club members.
Trampolining has a condition that requires clubs entering a certain number of performers in a competition to also supply a certain number of officials. Recognising that this could be a block on the number of children that the club could enter in a competition she decided to do something to ensure that others were not disadvantaged. Astonishingly given her coaching commitments and the demands of her final exam year in school, Annelies also took and passed the initial British Trampolining judging award. This turned out to be a major asset to the club which can now regularly enter 30 or more members at regional competitions and events. Annelies frequently volunteers to assist with events as an official and is now planning to do the next level of judging qualifications which will allow her to judge at national level.
Her commitment to her club was recognised when the members voted her Trampolinist of the Year and she also became Junior Official of the Year in the 2008 Gloucestershire Sports Awards 2008. CR
