Anne's nomination story

Dr Anne Murray has been a leading light in education in Northern Ireland. She received an honorary doctorate for her visionary work in the Integrated Education Sector. Her endless enthusiasm, passion for children and understanding of the difficult situation within N.I. prompted her to be the driving force behind setting up the first Integrated Primary School in the Northwest of the province. Oakgrove Integrated Primary School and Nursery now exists in Derry/Londonderry to educate all children together, because of Anne's passion. The school welcomes children from all backgrounds, regardless of creed, race, gender or ability and focuses on a child centred approach to education. She has made a difference to so many children's lives. She enthusiastically shares her knowledge and experience with others and manages to do all this whilst being a caring mother, wife, sister and daughter.
