Angela's nomination story

My wife Angela is my inspiration. She continually and unselfishly cares for our family, she is the carer for another family, and cares for a 5 year old boy who is visually impaired, as a school learning support. Angela is the carer for her sister and two children; both mother and daughter have learning difficulties. Angela literally rescued them from a housing estate where they were suffering racial abuse. She then fought for two years to safely rehouse them. They have all prospered with Angela's continual love, support and coaching. The children are moving towards a successfully independent future and their mum, having lost 7 stones is a much happier and healthier person. Angela provides me all the love and support I could wish for, as I do a demanding job and am often away from home. She is an exceptional mother to our two boys; they are both the mirror image of many of her very best qualities. In addition to this, she works to give something back to special needs children. She provides 121 support for child who has a visual impairment. She will often spend up to 3 to 4 hours every evening preparing and adapting his lessons. In his Biff and Chip books, she colours in characters, outlines figures in bold and prints words in larger font so he can get more from the book! Spending just about all her time selflessly, she would get real joy from being a torchbearer. Angela is one of the few who always gives. It would be great for us all to give her something precious back.
