Neet's nomination story

I would like to nominate Anita, known as Neet to her friends as she is the most inspirational person I know. Full of life and spreads joy and happiness on a daily basis. She is a lecturer going above and beyond the call of duty to her students. Neet goes out of her way to help people, using her amazing font of knowledge on a broad range of topics including fitness, exercise, health, animals, photography, costumes, etc. Whenever there is an opportunity to spread important news on a safety issue Neet always does her best. Neet is extremely kind and generous person, even taking in abandoned dogs and cats and giving them a home. 6 years ago, Neet had Breast Cancer but won her battle with her sheer determination. With lymph nodes removed, instead of sitting back, she built her strength back by learning pole dancing. This year Neet raised £1350 running the Edinburgh Marathon for Breast Cancer Care. One of her friends died of breast cancer recently and she took her friend's 12 year old daughter on the Glasgow Race for Life 5K. Neet has positively impacted my life and is a truly amazing person. I can honestly say I would not have achieved my recent marathon without Neet's encouragement and motivation. Neet slowed down her pace and lost sight of her training goals to encourage myself and the other two girls, bringing fun and friendship to our big task - she called us the maragirls - we all completed our marathon's thanks to Neet's great coaching. Neet is a worthy torchbearer!
