Anick has been a member of the YPC for three years now, he has been fully committed to changing the lives of other young people in Leicester.
He was elected by his peers to represent them and since then has flourished to be a real
advocate for the voice of young people
Anick is a gentle young man who respects unconditionally all the people he meets. He has
a maturity beyond his years, he never responds in anger even when challenged. His
commitment to his various roles never flounders and he always responds to requests for
involvement even at short notice. He embraces all challenges placed in front of him with
enthusiasm. Anick is passionate about young people's rights. He never lets anything get
him down and is a shining example to other young people.
Anick has been a DJ on Takeover Radio for a number of years now and uses this medium
to engage with young people across the City.
Anick is also a Young Advisor, he is one of the lead members and has worked on a number
of local and national commissions, he is passionate about ensuring that the voice of
young people are heard when policy and strategy is being developed. Anick is fiercly
competant and capable, he has single handed been the driving force behind the planning
of Takeover Leicester 2011, he has met with designers and created the branding for the
project, and is working hard on recruiting young people for the project. Anick is one of
the most creative young people I have ever worked with, he is enthusiatic and has a real
fresh insight into things.
Anick was also one of a very small group of young people who volunteered to webcast
council meetings in the City, giving up his free time to forward local democracy.
