Having lost our dad at a young age, Andy became the leader of our family. And has taken that role into every aspect of his life... Being a keen athelete he has used this talent to raise at less £10,000 for Devon Air Ambulance. Whether it was running in many marathons including London and New York under 3hrs. Or cycling from Lands End to John o Groats in just 3.5 days! Being part of this challenge i witnessed determination that i had never seen before. On day 3 suffering from exhaustion he seemed to have been beaten. But through sheer willpower alone he went on to complete the final 150 miles. Andy decided to set up a local running club to encourage others to get fit. He has encouraged people of all abilities to take part. And many are now completing in regular races. The club is now 80 members strong and growing. Whatever Andy sets out to do, he doesn't quit until he has done it. Always doing his best and willing others to succeed along the way. He is a local hero....
