Andy started as a participant in his local StreetGames session in Abram in 2007/ he was identified early as a potential volunteer as attendances at sessions revolved around Andy's appearance. Andy completed several coaching qualifications and took the role of volunteer and role model with enthusiasm and determination. Between 2008 and 2010, Andy delivered local sessions and ensured the young people had the opportunity to engage with other opportunities such as community football leagues and NW StreetGames festival. In 2009, Andy managed the Abram team at the Coalfield Regeneration Trust national finals after winning the local and regional competition. He even sought local business sponsorship and CLLR support to buy a kit to make sure the team looked the part!! When the opportunity to take up a coaching apprenticeship arose within Lancashire FA & Wigan Sport Development, Andy jumped at the chance and passed with flying colours.
