Andy Rimmer

We nominate Andy for his dedication to the people of our community of Merley (Dorset) and to sport in general. He is tirelessly enthusiastic in all he does and inspires people he meets to take part. A keen sportsman he takes any opportunity to play, encourage others and watch sport on TV or preferably live. He plays football, golf, cricket, runs and plays with all types of team from community to Anglican clergy. He organised a local Sports Relief 2010 event and will again for 2012. Regular events bring together the whole community for car washes, carols outdoors, summer events which without his drive would not happen. His main job is as the vicar of The Lantern Church (Church of England) but he is also Chaplain to AFC Bournemouth and has been alongside the team and managers over the past 5 years. Merley says Thank you Andy for all you do in our community and Happy 50th Birthday on 13 August 2012.
